What we offer
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine the customer experience in automotive through digital technology. One success factor is to continuously get fast feedback, from our consumers and cars, on our products and services. For this purpose, our customers of our Volvo Cars Co-Development (CoDev) car fleet play a major role.
Our department, Product Validation and Functional Architecture, enable consumer data driven insights within the company, to understand and confirm consumer value for future and current products. This is done by refining data from Co-Development platform and by developing tools that enable data collection and visualization.
We are also managing the Co-Development car fleet including the fleet handling process as well as securing driver communication & engagement and managing the CoDev portal App.
What you will do
Our current CoDev teams consist of specialist such as Data Analysis Engineers and UX Designers with deep technical knowledge combined with an open mindset. As a Data Architect you will create prerequisites for data driven development, as well as providing technical trade-offs concerning systems, functions, modules, components, interface, and capability areas. You will be facing interesting problems that will make you work closely with teams and specialists within Product Validation.
You will work and collaborate with Data Architects, Product Owners, Data Stewards, and specialists across the company, to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the key technological infrastructures in our global perspective.
You and your skills
We see that you have a MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent area. To be successful in this role, you will need experience of software development and software architecture design in complex systems (embedded and/or cloud). You also need a proven ability to, in continuous collaboration to our CoDev teams, analyse and make recommendations for technical design, as well as collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and to drive continuous improvements.
You enjoy the complexity of data engineering and data insights, and you have a genuine interest for user experience, engagement, and communication. Furthermore, you need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
It is an asset if you have experience of data cloud solutions and storage, such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake CI/CD tools and Python, or similar programme language. We will also find it meritorious if you understand the regulatory framework on the global market, of data protection and privacy by design.
