We are seeking for two energetic Data Center Facility- & Floor Managers to serve as a technical resource and leader within our Vattenfall data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability of our IT infrastructure to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations
Your responsibilities
As a Data Center Facility- & Floor Manager you will be responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of both IT as well as facility equipment within our new build data center. You will assist in maintaining a high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum.
You will act as Vattenfall’s front line when it comes to hands-on maintain, operate and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators, electrical systems that include switchgear and wet cell batteries. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building security systems and general facilities equipment.
In regards of the IT equipment you will also be responsible for:
• Receiving new hardware as well as the removal of old infrastructure in a safe and controlled manner, in accordance with applicable security guidelines
• Guiding and coordinating work of suppliers by maintenance and incidents on IT and facility equipment ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs
• Maintenance of floor plan
• Performing changes on IT equipment by request of Vattenfall IT colleagues and keeping CMDB up to date
Your profile and skillset
• An excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations
• Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
• Strong service-oriented attitude for trouble shooting and problem solving
• Ability to support the maintenance of SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
• Ability to follow accurate and complete support and security procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries
• Show good judgement and instincts in decision making
• Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced, high secured environment
• Proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about relevant technologies
• Able to demonstrate your ability to take ownership of technical issues but also to collaborate with others
• Flexible and open to respond to off hour emergency calls
Your competences
We believe that you have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant work experience. You have more than five years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation. You have advanced electrical and/or mechanical certifications.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move equipment and to manipulate small wires and objects
• Perform physical tasks all day
• Apply muscular force quickly to objects and equipment
Location
The work location will be primarily the new build Data center of Vattenfall in Sweden. On occasional base (international) travel might be required to do similar work on other data center locations of Vattenfall.
