Your role
Data center Facility Manager supervise the team of employees in facilities that contain large amounts of computer hardware, including servers and networking appliances. Data center Facility Managers oversee equipment maintenance and inventory.
Data center Facility Manager is responsible for equipment maintenance tasks such as managing and installing bios upgrades, replacing cables, components and accessories; maintaining records and drawing schematics of the center to detail what equipment is installed. Their customer support responsibilities might include escorting customers through the center on tours, responding to customer inquiries and coordinating with other organizations. Administrative duties might include scheduling employee shifts, planning for capacity changes and maintenance.
 Responsibilities:

Effectively oversee daily data center operations with respect to the facility, local technicians, and inventory.
Manage upwards of 5 individuals, observing technicians’ performance, and serving as an escalation point for issues requiring escalations.
Evaluate scheduling to cover 24/7 operations.
Create and implement the training, coaching, and overall development of the data center team members.
Efficiency improvements, process creation and improvement, and managing daily operational integrity.
Calculating metrics to analyse the performance of the data center.
Assist in the dissemination of information to employees via Team Meetings by actively contributing agenda items and effectively conveying that agenda to meeting participants.
Monitor the performance of and develop demonstrated business relationship with vendors, carriers, and other outside agencies that interact with the data center.
Work closely with local facility engineering staff to ensure all infrastructure systems are operating within established tolerances, proactively maintained, and adequately serviced when necessary.
Properly forecast capacity planning with regards to space and power usage.
Successfully manage multiple projects relating to data center operations from planning to execution.

Your skills and experience
Training in areas such as Microsoft applications, Linux or Unix is helpful for this work area. Familiarity with HVAC systems or other physical infrastructure is required.
