Value Chain Management belongs to Supply Chain Management within the Industrial Operations & Quality cluster; where SCM function has an broad end-to-end responsibility for the complete car & parts flow, driven by functions such as Operations Planning, Inbound logistics & Packaging, Outbound logistics, Parts Supply & Logistics and Customs & Export Control. Focus is on delivering operational excellence and driving change within the order-to-delivery process to shorten lead-times, improving delivery precision, increasing production stability and level production, and at the same time meet new business models and requirements to bring us into the future.
The Value Chain Management is a team with a holistic and broad senior expertise within business transformation and operational development together with a high team spirit. You will be part of a dedicated team which handles complex global challenges, end-to-end, in a dynamic and fast-moving business environment with many different interfaces, internally as well as externally. One main focus area is the new order-to-delivery system, a new approach to planning and ordering to meet online direct & retail sales, all supported by extensive digital development. What you will do
In general, the projects and tasks that you drive and support by having a strong focus on supply chain flow & business development are connected to planning & ordering, parts flow, car distribution within Volvo Cars industrial and commercial business arenas. Pending on project scope this covers the full range of activities from operational strategy development, concept design to solution implementation, gained knowledge in areas such as supply chain management, commercial offerings, product structure and manufacturing.
You will be the key player, lead data and insights activities into various initiatives, projects and processes. You will also play an important role to seek out areas for improvement and propose creative solutions and approaches, turn them into business requirements and also be a speaking partner of digital solutions and developments, enabling to bring out the best solutions into each business needs. Beside this you perform change management and collaborate with multiple functions of the company in cross-functional teams, around analytics & projects results, why it also requires some time spend with preparation of management and/or communication material.
In short, you will be the driver who supports company transformations by data analytics in supply chain projects, industrial and commercial activities with an end-to-end responsibility under your scope.
You and your skills
We see that you have strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, high interest in details, data & analytics, but at the same time the ability to see the bigger picture and turn it into business requirements. You communicate on a high level, both verbally and in writing to get messages across stakeholders with simplicity. In addition you should also have project management experience & proven business knowledge from at least two different areas, within either supply chain, operations planning, commercial, industrial systems, digital (IT) or procurement.
Furthermore, your skills and experience are from analyst roles and/or management consulting with strong skills in relationship buildings. You have a high level of creativity and are comfortable working with data in various forms to produce insights, strategic outlooks and translate vision into action.
We also think that you are an excellent communicator with the ability to convey messages on all levels, finding yourself comfortable in a constantly changing work environment and excited to realize business outcomes based on digital solutions.
Most likely, you have a business or technical master’s degree, and in addition if knowledge in Python, R and/or SQL including building data and visualization models we see as positive.
