Data Engineer

Plejd is an awesome Swedish tech company that develops products and services for smart lighting and home automation.

We are an in-house full-stack company that has a great mix of people involved in production automation, hardware, embedded, app, and cloud/backend development.

Plejd aims to unify our data layers so that we can paint a complete picture of our data infrastructure and help our organization make decisions and take actions that make us better.

To facilitate this need, Plejd has established a new data centric department within the company.

About The Team
On a high-level, the data team is driven by making a real impact by facilitating smarter decisions across the whole organization. It's a broad scope, but this includes data engineering, data science, product analytics, and business intelligence.

The team aims to collaborate and closely partner with Plejd’s internal teams in all areas, including products, engineering, operations, marketing, finance, and customer service to assist them to make more informed decisions so that they can ultimately build better products.

We will address these needs by building a solid infrastructure and applications that make data more accessible among the different areas of the company.

We are looking for a data engineer to join our team in Gothenburg.

What You’ll Do
You will be part of a new journey within Plejd by helping to establish a Data Department within the company. Initially the focus will be on creating the infrastructure and data driven framework in which we can manage all of the parameters that can lead us to continually improve services for the company and our customers.

Initially you and a small team will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining and monitoring scalable, end-to-end data pipelines, from collection to storage to delivery.

You’ll work in close collaboration with other teams at Plejd where you’ll evaluate and implement modern solutions and technology that will increase the efficiency of data engineering workflows at Plejd.

This is a young team, and a new role. Once these frameworks have been established, the position could grow to other desirable needs as we see fit.

You And Your Skills
We are looking for a Data Engineer with experience in cloud computing, data tracking, and data storage techniques. You should also be comfortable designing and implementing real-time data streaming and batch pipelines. Solid programming skills are of course required.

Experience in data science, data analysis and machine learning are beneficial.

You must have strong collaboration and communication skills.
