Arbetsbeskrivning
Do you want to drive the development of new connectivity solutions in our projects within electrification, autonomy, and data streaming? Do you want to take part in ensuring that our solutions have the right data variables and data quality to support Scania’s transformation to being truly data-driven?
Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania’s “driving the shift” strategy. At Connected Systems, we develop and operate Scania’s IoT solution. This solution spans from in-vehicle, via telecom to the Scania back-end platform.
Scania is one of Stockholm’s largest software companies and we build our software around a product that weighs over 3.5 tonnes, travels at 90 km/h, and underpins the transport system, the bloodstream of our society. Connectivity in general is all about data. Data provided in large volumes in a flexible and usable way is a key success factor for organizations that want to survive the digital shift. Today, Scania has over 600,000 (and counting) vehicles and other products connected online. We are looking for curious developers to help us drive the development of new connectivity solutions in our projects within electrification, autonomy, and data streaming. Do you want to join us?
What you will do
You will be a part of a team that owns Scanias data streaming and master data storage solution. The solution continuously collects data from vehicles around the globe 24/7. We provide the data to the rest of the organization through our interfaces. The data we provide supports many different use cases such as customer tools for fleet management and workshop tools for remote troubleshooting of vehicles.
You will take part in ensuring that our solutions have the right data variables and data quality to support Scania’s transformation to being truly data-driven.
As a data engineer at Scania, you need to work together with component owners and electrical control unit (ECU) developers at R&D to secure that our services get the right data with the right quality. Your daily tasks are those of a data engineer focusing on providing the best experience for the customer:
-Discuss with our stakeholders what kind of data they need.
-Explaining our current datasets and what they can be used for.
-Investigate data quality issues.
-Do big data analysis to understand the nature of our data and to understand anomalies.
-Talk to component-owning engineers about what data they can provide from the ECUs and understand the nature of the data.
-Implementing anomaly detection and correction in our data pipeline (Python in AWS).
Your initial mission will be data quality during the exciting transition to a new data collection paradigm. This includes the adaption of existing tools and the development of new software to meet the needs that arise as Scania and your team strive to provide even better data products.
Who you are
You are a data engineer who understands the challenges when it comes to working with data measurements at scale. You might be a developer who wants to develop toward data engineering or you might be a data engineer who is comfortable with writing business-critical production code.
You are curious and enjoy to have variation in your work. You have the ability to work with assignments that require networking and an exploratory approach.
It is easy for you to learn new technologies. You have Python experience and might have worked with C++, AWS Lambda, Linux, Dynamo DB, Athena, and Kinesis, or similar technologies. You might also be familiar with CI/CD systems such as Gitlab.
It is easy for you to communicate in English.
Application
If you feel you have the skills and desire to take on this interesting role, don´t hesitate to apply! Submit your CV and relevant certificates. You don't have to send a cover letter, just upload your CV twice. Screening and interviews will be done continuously. A background check might be conducted for this position.
We are looking forward to your application!
