DATA ENGINEER - (Solna)/Remote

We are searching for senior Data Engineers for VUIT Data and Analytic Technology (DAT) who will help the organisation conduct more efficient and data-driven analyses. Our digitalization journey is ongoing, and we are making significant investments to become even more data-driven. The consultants will join a well-established agile DevOps team that has created a recommendation engine for personalisation of marketing, mostly offers and recipes, during the last three years. The work is carried out on our on-premise Cloudera platform. Migration to GCP will begin in 2022, while operations and development will continue on-premise.
As senior Data Engineers, the consultants will be responsible for managing and refining design patterns, developing new working methods, and practically building data pipelines to ensure the stable and efficient operation of the machine learning models that are currently in production within the application.
Data engineers mostly develop SQL and Python code and make considerable use of Cloudera's Spark, Hive, HDFS, and other technologies. They work agile in sprints with a DevOps mindset, recognising and transferring the demand from stakeholders to an implemented solution.
We feel it is critical that you, as a senior Data Engineer, be innovative and interested about new prospects, and that you actively offer thoughts and ideas on how to effectively operationalize and productize an application that has been created in an agile manner over several years. You should also provide assistance to Data Engineers with less experience in current technology stacks, particularly with prior experience transitioning from MVP solutions to autonomous and reliable apps.
The consultants should preferably have substantial expertise working on on-premise systems (Cloudera or comparable) as well as how to implement a contemporary, automated, and long-term application for a data-driven corporation.
The consultants have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and are eager to share their expertise and experience with others. It is also necessary to be able to listen to and explain new use cases, as well as grasp how they should be achieved.
They have extensive expertise programming and processing massive volumes of data in SQL, Python, and distributed databases (e.g., HDFS) and/or on the cloud, as well as knowledge of Unix / Linux-based systems. It's a bonus if you're familiar with Airflow, GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA, as well as having data modelling knowledge.
The consultants must have documented expertise with comparable assignments because they will actively engage in this work with Data Scientists and other Data Engineers from the company and other consulting firms.
Swedish and English are required languages.
