As a Data Engineer, you play a key role in the success of Data Delivery and Production team. Since we are building a new platform curated and certified data to our all our data consumers (e.g. Advance Analytics and Digital Transformation projects), you will be responsible for creating, expanding and optimizing our dataflow architecture.

We work in small highly collaborative agile teams that typically includes Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Analysts and a Product Manager. You and your team will have a clear mission and ownership of an important outcome that supports Trygg-Hansa and our customers.

The Role

As a Data Engineer your responsibility will be to:

- Build the Data Infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ / Hadoop/cloudera technologies.
- Build analytics tools to support the data flow.
- Work with stakeholders including the Analyst, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.


To to be a successful Data Engineer at Trygg-Hansa, we believe that the right candidate has some of these Technical Qualifications:

- SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Knowledge/experience of building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Knowledge/experience of performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets, operational data sets.
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures and metadata.
- Knowledge of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
- Knowledge of message queuing, Kafka, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ Hadoop/Cloudera HDFS data stores.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL platform and BI Basics


You will become part of the Data Delivery & Production team within Business IT with committed colleagues and external partners and you will be located in our Stockholm or Malmö office. Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with some experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.

The ideal candidate is a data flow builder, who is self-directed and comfortable with supporting the data needs from multiple teams, systems and products. The ideal candidate will also ensure that the optimal data delivery architecture is consistent across the projects.

Experience from the Insurance Industry will be a plus.

The position is based in Stockholm or Malmö.
