Do you have experience of working with Cloud Data and BI Solutions and want to take the next step as a Data Engineer/Architect? We are now looking for an experienced Data Engineer or a hands-on Data Architect to join our Forest Data Services team and to participate in implementation of our forest data platform.
Digitalize for a better climate. Every day.
We are now looking for a Data Engineer/Architect to join our Forest Data Services team. We are currently implementing a digital twin of our forest assets, a database containing best available predictions of different attributes related to different geographical forest areas. You will work together with the data platform ETL development team and co-ordinate activities with AI/ML teams. You will also participate in overall data platform architecture planning in all our data areas (including sourcing, supply chain and sustainability). In this role you will take part in developing the system so that it fits the forestry business needs. You are not alone in these tasks, but there is the whole Forest data service team of 16 persons to support you. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other IT teams from division and group level.
Your location will be either Sweden (Falun or Stockholm) or Ostrava and you will be working in Forest Division. You will report to Head of Data Services. We apply hybrid way of working meaning that you can work from home in Sweden and Czech.
We see great possibilities in better use of data in Stora Enso Forest division. Data enables us to optimize the management of forest assets and to reach ambitious goals in biodiversity, CO2 and growth. We want to offer private forest owners world class digital services empowered by data. Data will also help us to optimize the supply chain for our mills. Our data platform and data architecture team are key enablers in this transformation. The architecture team works with the development teams and is responsible for architecture governance, guidance, and hands-on support for implementing a best-in-class data and analytics platform.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a person, who enjoy working in an organized and systematic way. You have minimum 5 years’ experience in Cloud data architectures (Azure, AWS, etc.), BI solutions, ETL-/ELT processing and data warehousing. Your proficiency is based on a degree in computer science, information systems, or e.g., business degree with a specialization in data & analytics. Forest business understanding and/or understanding of GIS data is an advantage. You know how to translate analysis and IT language to bridge the gap between organization and data/IT. You are a good communicator, and you communicate fluently in English. You have a consulting mindset and can relate to the needs of internal customers. We hope you enjoy the initiative and actively promote ideas to further develop the analysis.
