Our organizational data strategy drives our overall technology strategy (data mesh), how we govern, and our organizational operating model. We are working in manufacturing as a part of a whole, where the intention is to break down silos and build data and analytical products that are accessible and interoperable across Volvo Cars. 

Manufacturing Data and Analytics Hub 
The Data & Analytics organization in manufacturing is called Manufacturing Data and Analytics Hub, responsible for delivering data and analytical products that address business needs and support business objectives. 
Aligned to the Volvo Data Vision of, we have the vision of Manufacturing Data and Analytics Hub, Analytics shapes the future of manufacturing at Volvo Cars 

What you’ll do 
* As Data Governance Lead you will belong to the data team in the manufacturing data hub. The mission of the data team is to provide manufacturing-data fit for purpose for analytics and dashboarding both within manufacturing as well as to the rest of the company.  
* The Data Governance Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring that the manufacturing data is fit for purpose, accurate, consistent and used in a way that complies with our set policies. 
* You will collaborate and engage with the manufacturing community as well as with the digital community to ensure a working data governance process 
Drive and implement data governance principles into the hub's operations 
Collaborate and engage with business stakeholders, transformation leads, data engineers, and architects 
Review data governance models and processes, making recommendations for enhancements 
Identify and establish data owners across the organization 
Drive continuous improvement in data quality and governance compliance 
Ensure effective communication and adoption of data governance policies 
Engage with business stakeholders to ensure the data is fit for purpose 


What you‘ll bring 
We think you have a bachelor's or master’s degree in information management, data science, computer science, or a related field.  
You have a strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices. 
You can independently manage and prioritize tasks, take ownership of data governance initiatives, and drive them to completion. 
You can articulate data governance concepts and their importance to stakeholders at all levels, and to foster a culture of data governance across the organization. 
You work well with others, and know how to build consensus, and can lead cross-functional teams in data governance efforts. 
You have a proven track record of guiding data architects, data engineer and data analysts with regards to data governance. 

Nice to have: 
Knowledge of / experience with data mesh concepts 

Prior experience within an automotive environment 

Experience with knowledge graphs and semantic modelling 

Well established relevant network from which to draw advice, guidance, best practice and industry developments 

Experience with data governance tools and platforms
