About the job
As a Data & information modeller, you will support the business in leveraging information from trusted sources. This you will do by supporting business stakeholders in understanding the potential of getting data to actionable information to enable business movement. By contributing in the community for data & information modelling across the organisation, creating and disseminating best practices, frameworks and accelerators across the organisation covering logical and physical modelling.
You will collaborate closely with the Data & Analytics and Information Management (IM) teams as well as with other practitioners across the larger IKEA organisation. We work in a modern cloud based Azure environment and you will be a part of the community continuously developing our platform and capabilities. You take your colleagues by the hand and you constructively advise what is needed to enable teams to use data in the most common, consistent and efficient way. You are regularly involved in workshops and brainstorms with users to determine large and small data opportunities and support the organisation to use modern data infrastructure efficiently and enable the new IKEA Data Model.
More specifically, in this role you will be accountable to:
Analyse and translate business needs into data models that enable the new IKEA Data Model to be realised and unlock business value.
Collaborate and communicate with other parts of the organisation to understand needs of stakeholders and devise possible solutions.
Evaluating existing data systems and review modifications for cross-compatibility.
Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.
Working with development teams to create conceptual data models and data flows.
Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.
Oversee mapping of data component interdependencies and ensure that Information architecture decisions are consistent between functions/teams and leverage opportunities for common approaches.
Drive continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing of methodologies, tools and materials across the IKEA Data Modelling community
Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.

In this role you will report to our Data & Analytics manager at IKEA Supply and work closely with the Data modelling network of expertise to lead towards uniformity and commonality, contributing to the Inter IKEA Digital framework and delivering on the needs of IKEA Supply.

To be successful in this role, you have experience in building data and information models with an excellent proven track record. We believe you are able to inspire and mobilize people towards clearly set objectives. You are curious and able to build relationships in order to establish strong trust between the Supply Data & Technology community and its stakeholders. You should also be able to make advanced technical solutions understood and embraced by both technical and non-technical co-workers.
We expect you to have a very good knowledge of IT and digital organizations, strategies and working methods, in particular project and program management with the relevant experience and track record. You have knowledge in modern development techniques such as Agile / DevOps and comprehensive understanding in designing data pipelines, data warehousing, and database design. You have proficiency with an appropriate set of languages, technologies, and frameworks in cloud environments (e.g. Azure, Google, AWS). You have expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools. Most likely you have a master's degree or similar/higher qualifications in statistics, physics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related.
