As Purchasing’s Data Management Specialist, your mission is to identify, enable and drive various data-related topics to enable the transformation to a more data-driven organization.

About the role

Right now we are on a journey of implementing a new System Landscape based on SAP, utilizing the power of software and data and enabling end-to-end process flows. In this Business Transformation, we want to ensure that we take Purchasing to the next level, and the Data Management Specialist has an important role to play as stream lead for Master Data for Sourcing & Procurement. As such, you will be responsible for driving the work forward together with a cross-functional team of solution architects. You are also the Purchasing representative in the various data boards at Scania, where you take an active role to make Scania data-driven and utilize cross-functional synergies.

Our Data Management Specialist also leads or supports prioritized data initiatives, for example defining data management vision, ambition, and strategies for Purchasing. Often it also means taking project management responsibility and getting quite hands-on in the experimentation, development, or implementation of new solutions.

Your skills


• Experience in data management (especially data architecture & data governance)
• Experience in SAP, preferably the Sourcing & Procurement modules
• Experience and understanding of the usage and requirements of Supplier and Material data across the supply chain
• Understanding of Analytics, its requirements on Data Management, and how it can support Purchasing business
• Relevant academic degree and 5 years of experience
