‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and used through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.

The ‘Data’ function is a large multi-cultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries - Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France.


This is a Flexible position, and in this role, you will be joining as a Data Manager for Data Catalog in Göteborg (Sweden), Lyon (France), Gent (Belgium) or Wroclaw (Poland). Please mention the location while you apply.

Profile
As a Data Manager for Data Catalog in our team, you will engage with various teams and business stakeholders to ensure documentation of data assets into the Data Catalog and define as well as manage methodology for harvesting & managing meta-data. You will work with the Data Management Tool, Informatica IDMC and secure enhancement and implementations of new capabilities.


This requires knowledge and experience from Data Governance and Data Management, an analytical mindset, excellent structuring skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills, and a pragmatic can-do attitude to be part of and help drive the data transformation.


Responsibilities


Advisory and support to stakeholders to gather and identify their needs and problems and guide them in the best way how to use the Data Catalog.
Work closely with core business representatives, information owners, data stewards, Architects to understand expectations and work towards making the onboarding as seamless as possible for the business.
Promote the usage and enrichment of the Data Catalog to maximize value creation.
Coordination with other internal Data Governance and Data Management products
Guardian of the value proposition in every aspect of the Agile delivery process
Become an expert on Data Catalog, secure enhancement and implementations of new capabilities, to draw conclusions and to provide answers to business stakeholders questions. Provide functional support and expertise to your colleagues

Required Competence
Documented experience and implementation track record from Data Governance & Data Management
Experience of Informatica IDMC or similar tool with focus on Data Governance and Catalog (IDGC)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong structuring and organizing skills
Ability to present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations in verbal, written, and presentation formats using storytelling and logical arguments
Insights and knowledge from glossary and/or data modeling is an advantage
Automotive Industry experience is favorably
Experience working in an agile set-up, using DevOps or similar
A good understanding of both business and IT
Proficiency in English which enables you to take part in international projects
A university degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or similar
