Who are we?


Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of supporting the Volvo Group's transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, circularity, complete service offer, profitable growth and resilience.


The Volvo Energy Digital & IT proactively seizes new digitalization opportunities in the Energy ecosystem, enabling Volvo Group’s sustainability ambitions and electrification transformation. We are a new unit, pragmatic and easy to do business with, and a fun place to work. Our purpose is to support the electrified first-life sale and monetize battery second life to support Volvo Group’s sustainability ambitions.

What will you be doing?


As Volvo Energy’s Data Privacy Responsible, you will be the focal point for data privacy issues in Volvo Energy and responsible for Volvo Energy’s data privacy compliance activities.


Inform, train and advise Volvo Energy on the implementation and adherence to relevant steering documents and processes – in alignment with legal counsel at Volvo Energy
Develop Volvo Energy specific instructions, templates etc. where needed - in alignment with legal counsel at Volvo Energy.
Manage the Data Subject Rights requests and Personal Data Breach reporting activities, according to guidance from Volvo Group Privacy Office.
Promote and drive the implementation of Privacy by Design in ongoing projects / change initiatives.
Oversee the quality of the Volvo Energy’s subset of the record of processing (data catalogue) in Onetrust.
Implement measures to provide Volvo Energy specific privacy notices, where required – in alignment with Volvo Energy legal counsel
Responsible to monitor Volvo Energy’s ongoing data protection compliance.
Participate in regular meetings with the Volvo Group Privacy Network
Point of contact to coordinate, support and deliver required reports within the Volvo Energy-related to data privacy control/audit activities


Mindset and qualifications likely required to be successful

You have relevant experience working in the area of privacy and data protection, preferably in the technology industry. You have a relevant academic background (e.g. computer science, engineering). You have sound knowledge of EU and global privacy laws – in particular the GDPR. You have knowledge of information security principles and practice as well as knowledge of information risk analysis and risk management.


Project management skills, experience from an OEM is an advantage, experience and knowledge of technical aspects of data protection and security and in understanding complex technologies, and knowledge in other privacy laws (e.g. UK GDPR, CCPA, PIPA, PIPL), are beneficial.


You are passionate on protecting data protection rights. You are a great team player with a problem-solving and business-oriented mind-set. You are able to translate legal advice into useful business actions, and to promote data privacy and data protection within the organization. As part of an international business you are expected to be fluent in English in both written and oral communication.
