The Data Protection Coordinator is a key role in ensuring Data Ethics by Design while enabling all our development and service operation to be data driven. By creating awareness, providing advice regarding compliance aspects of technical design and by supporting in the documentation and review of processing activities, you will contribute to our ambition to be a leading premium car brand.

What you’ll do
You will be a part of a network of several Data Protection Coordinators within Volvo Cars, and work closely with the Head of Data Protection Business Support, the Head of Data Protection Compliance and the Data Protection Officer. Your main responsibilities will be:

* Data protection awareness within Digital
* Advice on ensuring data protection by design / by default in Digital
* Processing activities documentation
* Data protection compliance checks and risk assessments
* Drafting privacy notices, ensuring their method of communication is appropriate
* Identify applicable law, qualification of roles under data protection law, identify which data processing agreements are necessary
* Train and raise awareness on privacy matters


Your specific area of responsibility will be to support the Digital organization within Volvo Cars. This means software development and maintenance for both internal and external use, database handling and data analytics., analytics, web- and app development.

Who are you?
You have solid experience of dealing with data protection matters in a digital/software environment, including at least 3 years’ experience in implementing or managing a data protection program. An internationally recognized privacy certification such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or another internationally recognized certification is preferred.

You have a strong passion for protecting the privacy of each individual customer combined with business acumen and technical know-how that allows you to help the organization to find ways to use relevant data in a responsible way.

You have a strong knowledge of data protection matters under EU data protection law and preferably also under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), a good understanding of privacy transparency requirements and good communication and training skills. 
You have a proven ability to analyze and make recommendations, collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and drive continuous improvements. You have a good understanding of privacy by design and how to operationalize data protection compliance, and you are also familiar with privacy-enhancing technologies.

The location for this position is at the headquarters in Gothenburg but we are also open for applicants based in Stockholm or Lund, as long as you are willing to travel on a regular basis to Gothenburg.
