INTRODUCTION
Join us in our mission to secure vehicle uptime for our customers! We are a data science team that improves customer experience by predicting vehicle component failure ahead of time. Our systems do this by analyzing live data from customer vehicles. This way, our customers can remedy the problem in time, instead of dealing with it at the side of the road.
THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
You will join the Technology & Service Development team (TSD). At TSD, we manage the Advance Engineering Portfolio for aftermarket technologies, aiming to develop new technologies and services and prepare for the future. And most important is to create the solutions that support our customers and their vehicles to stay on their mission, maximizing uptime! As a team, we have skills and competencies in many areas, such as mechatronics, data analytics, AI, CAD/PLM, VR/AR, App development, and more.
In predictive maintenance, projects may focus on everything from core technologies to integration in end-to-end solutions, covering anything between sensors and raw data to decision support and visualization. Success in almost everything we do requires working in a cross-functional environment and building solutions with people and teams in different parts of the organization. As a team, we work, support each other and grow together.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The quality engineer is the data enabler for our predictive maintenance solution and the agile product owner of our data pipeline team. With this comes two primary responsibilities:
Ensuring that our solution gets the correct data with the right quality.
Ensuring that our data pipeline and platform are maintained and have continuously improved CI/CD.
The data responsibility of this role requires the person to interact with all parts of Volvo from where we source our data. For instance, attending data governance boards and ensuring the needs of predictive maintenance are represented throughout the organization. This will require a good understanding of the flow and storage of data between Volvo vehicles and systems.
The agile product owner is key for the team to work in the right direction. Having an end-to-end understanding of the data pipeline combined with an appreciation of the user and customer situation is essential. Backed by this holistic view, the product owner prioritizes work and facilitates communication between team members, other teams, and stakeholders.
WHO ARE YOU?
We want you to have fun at work! We think you have a "can-do" attitude and show curiosity in what you do. You are a team player, meaning you want to grow as an individual and as a team. You have strong social skills and like getting involved in new situations and with new people. You have a master's degree in engineering focusing on data science or cloud IT solutions. You preferably have automotive experience with insight into the end customer's needs.
YOU ARE
A people person capable of technical communication about data with people not from this field.
Organized and like your data the same way.
Comfortable prioritizing tasks and making decisions.
Able to see what's best for the end-user and customer.
