The AI Hub is a newly established unit in Nordea with the mission to scale AI across the organisation to improve customer experiences, operational efficiency and insights. We are a group function driving Nordea’s AI strategy and governance, as well as ensuring access to common tooling, guidelines, training and expert advice.
We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Data Science Lead to drive the development of Nordea’s AI & data science capability in close collaboration with strategists, architects, data scientists and business stakeholders across the organisation. We believe you have a passion for enabling the development and implementation of AI solutions that will improve the lives of our customers and Nordea operations. The AI Hub is on a journey to advance Nordea into an AI driven future. This path is still being defined why you need to be comfortable with working in a dynamic environment and be adaptive, collaborative and have an open mindset.
About this opportunity
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead the development of Nordea’s AI capability across the group
* Support in the recruitment and career development of new AI talents
* Provide mentorship to junior colleagues and lead the organisation in how to best design machine learning solutions
* Drive the technology strategy and roadmap for Nordea’s common data science platform
* Drive AI innovation in collaboration with business units by exploring and scoping new AI opportunities
* Perform technical due diligence and proof-of-concepts for new potential AI use cases
* Build support for AI across the bank by educating and inspiring stakeholders
* Develop partnerships with external stakeholders such as academia, institutions and vendors
* Support implementation and development of Nordea’s AI lifecycle and best practice execution
* Identify synergies and promote collaboration between functions to increase speed and quality of AI deliveries
* Create a roadmap for shared capabilities based on their potential to scale through centralized development and implement these together with stakeholders
* Drive the development of common AI tools that enable data scientists and business users to perform their work in an effective and efficient manner

Your experience and background:
* Extensive practical expertise and experience with advanced machine learning techniques and tools such as Python/Anaconda, R, XGBoost, Tensorflow, Keras, SciKit-Learn, Spark, Hive, SQL etc.
* In-depth knowledge of the data science lifecycle, from proof-of-concept to industrialized and scalable models
* Experience working with advanced AI teams in an enterprise setting
* Track record of developing and implementing several successful use cases end-to-end from data exploration through modelling to production
* Experience within a consultative role with a focus on solution delivery
* Experience working in a regulated industry. Previous work in the financial sector is of merit, but not a requirement
* Experience in high-scale data processing and storage frameworks
* Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with very good level of English
* Excellent problem solving, planning and execution skills
* 5+ years of relevant work experience
* An advanced degree in computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning or related data-centric area
