We are looking for a Data Scientist, who will belong to the Decision Science group in the Business Transformation & Process Performance organisation. In this position you will have a real impact on some of the most important decisions for Tetra Pak, one of the largest consumer packaging companies in the world.
This position is based in Lund, Sweden.
What you will do
As a data scientist in the Decision Science group, you will improve decision-making in all aspects of Tetra Pak's business. We develop prescriptive analytics for decision makers both within the business and among our customers. This is done by applying scientific methods to real life decision problems. We use data, statistical methods, machine learning and other cutting-edge technology to reduce noise, bias and, other sources of uncertainty and errors in decision-making.
You will work in project teams together with other data scientists, data engineers and business domain experts to solve various business problems. You will work with projects through the project lifecycle, from Proof of Value to continuous improvement of deployed models in service mode.
Who you are
You are someone who loves to learn new things and are driven by an insatiable curiosity. You have a very strong analytical mindset, and problem-solving energizes you immensely. Furthermore, you are passionate about fact based decision-making and firmly believes in the scientific method. You challenge unsubstantiated claims and opinions. You love to work closely in a team, learn from your team members and share your knowledge.
You have a good mix of skills within the areas of statistics, mathematics, programming, and business acumen.
Statistical methods, machine learning and probabilistic thinking is something you are very comfortable with. You have good programming skills (preferably in Python). You love data visualization and other ways of communicating your findings to a broader audience.
You think like an economist, and this probably affects the way you approach problems.
You probably have a PhD or a Master and a few years of experience as a data scientist. That said, we will value the things in your background and experience that make your contributions to the team unique.
Experience with optimization problems, deep learning, econometrics, data-engineering, behavioural economics, organizational psychology and 6 Sigma, etc. are meriting.
You are fluent in English, verbally as well as in writing.
