With Volvo Cars vision in focus, we now intensify the drive of the digital transformation by expanding our competences and capabilities within the areas of Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
The Analytics & AI department drives transformation and implementation of Analytics & AI within Volvo Cars Research & Development. The department also handle competence growth and collaborations within Analytics & AI. Our team is cross-functional and work together with our different domains within R&D. It consists of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers and Software Engineers developing product applications and services with direct or indirect connection to our cars.

Then the role as Data Scientist A/B testing is the place for you to prosper. You will extract knowledge and insights from a wide range of data sources and develop new customer centric Analytics & AI based functions and services.
We can offer you a dynamic work environment within a team of computer scientists, mathematicians, statisticians, and physicists, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with universities and research institutes. You will have full support for continuous personal development at all levels with our own “Volvo Cars School of Data Science” program.
Your contribution
You will be responsible for turning data into insights using for example machine learning techniques. As part of your role, you will also give advice and help shape organizations and processes to set up and improve environments for A/B testing. You will advise on how to set up successful A/B tests, and how to interpret the results. You will be applying an agile mind-set and using the latest analytics tools and methods to understand, predict and bring our data to life. You will be involved all the way from the identified opportunity and translate the business problem into a quantitative problem, build and verify quantitative models out of data and integrate the model into a full solution or insight. You will also validate that the result solves the customer needs in an excellent way.
What you bring
We see that you have a MSc/PhD in statistics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or another relevant field. You have a proven math background and a good understanding of appropriate statistical techniques. You need to have a theoretical and thorough understanding as well as practical experience of A/B testing.
You are a great communicator, comfortable presenting your result and you possess strong visualization skills.
Knowledge and experience from machine learning, statistics, optimization and data mining tools, frameworks and algorithms, and experience from different problem domains and data types (including time-series) is considered meritorious, as well as experience from building and designing analytical solutions of different kind – from visual descriptive solutions to optimized decision support or automated decisions (prescriptive solutions). Experience from cloud platforms and numerical methods and scientific computing is also competence within below areas will also be considered beneficial.
