Are you a creative engineer that would like to develop future digital service solutions for sustainable transports? Then, we are an enthusiastic team leading technology for new Powertrain solutions with focus on energy optimization that would like to have you as a colleague!
THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
We tackle future challenges such as sustainable transports, demands on low energy consumption and digital services by providing the brain to all the powertrain systems of the Volvo Group. That is, we leverage on our expertise to design digital services and embedded software for new powertrain products. We work agile and we believe that this is the way to go.
We further collaborate in a very cross functional way to deliver world class products.
Our key focus areas are:
Development, implementation and evaluation of efficient embedded control software for new powertrain systems, such as fuel cells, battery electric propulsion, etc.
Development, implementation and evaluation of digital services for conventional as well as electrified drivelines.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Data Scientist you will be welcomed to a group of about 10 members working together to define and mature new control system concepts including algorithms, software, system simulation and data analytics. We are using agile methods and you will be part of a Scrum team that analyzes, develop, implement, integrate and test data and services for powertrain products.
We value working prototypes and you will support the team mainly through analysis of big amounts of data as well as prototyping digital services related to our vehicles.
WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for a M.Sc. or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent with some experience of data driven development and analytics. You possess knowledge about analyzing big amounts of data and handling data that is lacking in quality.
Further you have the ability to summarize and communicate results from complex analysis as a base for decision making.
You are comfortable with programming, preferably in Python, SQL, R, Spark, Hadoop, Azure, Git, and experience of working with relational databases and data privacy is a plus.
