Data Scientist - Europe & US Flexible

At Sandvik Coromant, we’re now looking for a Data Scientist for our Business Reporting Intelligence Area – a team that provides global support through the development, maintenance and release of reporting methods, advanced analytics and services covering all major data and information platforms within Sandvik Coromant.

Your mission
In this position, you’re responsible for the creation, distribution, maintenance and reporting of business information and business intelligence by combining historical data with mathematical forecast methods. Our mission is to enable a closer interaction between BI and external indicators to try and answer how our sales and operations patterns will look. Through this, you help us in understanding customer behaviors and figuring out how to pro-actively define and plan sales, production and enhanced interaction with partners and customers.

You do this by identifying, analyzing and responding to new business, systems and service opportunities within your areas of responsibility, primarily focusing on Sales, Marketing, Supply and Product Management reporting, as well as developing predictive and prescriptive analysis that may arise from it. This includes cross-border business support and reporting development and, after developing the methods and ways of working, responsibility for training, communication and education regarding these methods. Moreover, monitoring and benchmarking of reporting usage and reporting lifecycle management are also some of your concerns, as is providing input into global strategies, systems, platforms and activities. To maintain successful collaboration with the rest of your team spread throughout the world, you rely heavily on digital solutions such as Teams.

We offer a flexible location for this role, as you can be located anywhere within Europe and the US, and some international travel to our different sites can occur under normal circumstances.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in IT, Statistics or Mathematics, and solid experience of data analysis, data mining and reporting. You also have experience from developing analytics, and it is advantageous if you also have worked for a consulting or software company. Furthermore, you’re an advanced user of Power BI, Excel, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot and Predictive Analytics, and you are also familiar with SAP – Business Warehouse, R-Scripting, Python, Azure and Microsoft Analytics Development/Programming Cloud Reporting. Lastly, as we operate in an international setting with many global contacts, your communication skills in English must be advanced, both verbally and in writing.
