In order to meet the future, are we now looking for a new Data scientist to our Vehicle Energy Efficiency Group, are you used to handle a big amount of data and determined to drive for a sustainable future? Then this might be the place for you to prosper! You will belong to the department Environment & Fluid Dynamics and be part of a highly focused strategic and requirement setting team, contributing to strategical environmental work to our attribute architecture team.

Our purpose is to contribute to strategic environmental work by implementation and analyses of usage data, and to support our strategical team with development of real world* methods to optimize vehicle energy and analysis of environmental data to support e.g. GHG (Green House Gases) monitoring.

What you’ll do
You will be an important member of an agile strategical team focusing on Vehicle Energy Efficiency, to optimize our new EVs on energy consumption (long RANGE). The team consisting of 8 people, belonging to the larger group Vehicle Energy Efficiency consisting of approximately 40 engaged engineers. Within the strategical team, your role will be to support with as analyse large data sets, building new methods and development new tools to monitoring GHG. Part of your time will be spent to communicate our/your results internally to Volvo Cars Strategical Business Owner.

You and Your Skills
We see that you have at least a Master of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering Physics or similar. You are proficiency in programming using Python, Matlab, Java, C++ or similar. You have excellent skills in analysing, structuring, implementing and store large data sets. You also have knowledge in statistics, optimization and algorithms.

Knowledge in machine learning and data mining/databases is meritorious. If you have prior documented working experience with data science and data analysis is considered beneficial as well as basic knowledge in development of simulation environments or test methods.
We are searching for a highly motivated, creative and curious person, with a strong analytical, scientific and strategic mind-set, who has several years of experience in working with large data set.

As a person you are self-driven, independent and able to take initiatives on your own, you see the overall picture and logical patterns, but are also able to go into a detailed analysis of things.
