Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

Do you want to create the future with us?
The future belongs to those who are empowered by a great idea and with ability to carry it out.
At Volvo Cars we are redefining the automotive experience and are innovating to make people’s lives less complicated. Freedom to move in a safe, personal and sustainable way! This is our purpose.

What will you do?
As a data hero at the department for Safe Vehicle Automation, you will create value out of large datasets together with a team of fun, humble, and ambitious people doing various working tasks. You will work closely with the function developers to get a deep understanding of the Pilot Assist functions and the data sources you are working with. If you would like to, this involves driving test vehicles in Sweden as well as abroad. We are learning together and creating great things by sharing knowledge with each other!

Your tasks will include the entire toolchain; from understanding the data needs in your team to visualizing and presenting results to them. We therefore believe you have knowledge in any or many of these areas:
-    Python programming
-    Database handling & architecture
-    Parallelization techniques
-    Cloud computing
-    BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau/Grafana/Kibana
-    Geographical data handling, such as PostGIS
But most importantly, we believe you are a curious, collaborative, and driven person who is not afraid to ask questions, has a problem-solving attitude and loves spreading joy to people around you.
