Data Scientist specialized in Optimization to Advanced Analytics Scania IT

The Advanced Analytics team within Scania IT is currently looking for a Data Scientist specialized in optimization. We are a Center of Excellence within data science and serve all of Scania. Our mission is to make data-driven decision making an integrategral part of everyday work in all business areas.

What you will do

You will develop and deploy optimization and/or statistical models for different business functions at Scania within areas such as production planning, job scheduling, supply chain, transportation, inventory optimization and forecasting.

You will do it in close cooperation with other team members, teams and individuals across Scania’s organisation and external partners.

You also have knowledge and experience in the following:


• Optimization software such as Gurobi, Cplex, or Xpress
• Experience implementing optimization algorithms from scratch
• Software engineering best practices
• At least one programming language (i.e. Python, R, Java, or C++)
• Data modelling
• Cloud computing solution such as AWS, Azure is preferred

You have a BSc or MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience and are fluent in English. As a person, you are analytical, goal-oriented, have an eagerness to learn, and surround yourself with other people for collaboration.
