Service Portfolio & Delivery is overall responsible for Scania’s global service offerings. We have an exciting time ahead, transforming our business models to meet global development and technological shifts, turning risks into opportunities. We are now strengthening the team with a new Data Scientist, with main responsibility to develop, maintain and enhance our data driven insights capabilities to boost our management, development and enhancement of our global service offerings. These services make sure our customers and partners stay ahead of their game.
Assignment
We are heading for a new era in the transport sector, creating the need to understand and optimize the transport system - the right customer must be provided with the right service at the right time. By collecting and analysing the data from the trucks, buses & engines as well as other contextual data sources, we can create self-improvement and data-driven real time solutions. We need to build infrastructure to collect and process large amounts of data, build self-sustaining data analysis services, develop new algorithms/models, and re-use algorithms/models in new and ground-breaking ways.
Opportunities & Skillset
There will be plenty of opportunities to meet with customers and colleagues in our service network and all our other sales channels to talk about what value we’re providing, and collect ideas on how to do more. You will also work closely together with other functions e.g. R&D, Commercial Operations, Scania IT, Financial Services and other key functions to develop capabilities, processes and solutions that with ease sales and deliver of our services. This assignment has a emobility focus; hence analytics and data insight product development for our emobility customers and partners will be the focus.
You will also have the opportunity to work with desired skillset of our Data Scientists; programming (example R, Python etc.), analytics (Pandas, SQL, Hive etc.), appropriate statistical and/or machine learning techniques (decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, regression etc.) and data modelling on for instance AWS SageMaker, tools in the Hadoop ecosystem, stream processing and last but not least Cloudera serverless, least AWS analytics services, and Snowflake etc.
Your Profile
Ideal candidate is self-motivated and willing to engage in both pure analytical type of duties as well as more hands on operational issues.
The candidate must be:
• Organised and analytical
• Comfortable in working in a team environment
• Ability to tackling very loosely defined problems.
• Able to handle multiple priorities in a fast moving environment
• Fluent English skills in both speaking and writing is mandatory
You as a person are a team player who works well independently, responsive and humble, with an ability to drive technological developments based on business needs. You must have a relevant degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and/or related technical field. Experience from working in agile organisations and with agile methods are meriting!
