Powertrain Engineering is looking for a Data Scientist within Powertrain simulation.

We are proud product owners for components, systems as well as complete powertrains. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. Most of our powertrain components are traditional combustion engines, after treatment systems, transmissions and axles, however the importance of e-mobility and combustion engines with new fuels are growing every day.
We stand in front of significant challenges – where reducing transport emitted CO2 emissions is one of the biggest.
In this position you will be part of an organization dedicated to technology as well as empowering and developing our employees. We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.
Tasks in the role as Data Scientist within Powertrain simulation.
Powertrain simulation is a data-intensive task and new scripts and methods are needed to deal with more complex engines. Work will be both utilizing existing tools for data handling and modeling as well as to improve our methods and tools. The data will be collected from trucks on road or engines test cells physical and virtual.
Who are you? (Preferred knowledge/experience)
You have an interest and relevant education in mathematical algorithms. A solid understanding of physical processes within thermodynamics and energy sciences is important.
You must have a talent for handling large data quantities and sort out relevant information from noise and illustrate it in a pedagogical manner. An analytical mindset together with a talent for programming are important. Experience in working with engine simulation is meritorious but not a requirement for this position.
Programming skills in Matlab and Python are needed, and you must be able to quickly adapt to new environments such as SIMULINK, PySpark, Scikit-learn, C#, C, KNIME, SQL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power BI, Databricks, and FORTRAN.
Suitable Education could be master’s degree in Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics, Data Science, Energy sciences or similar. PhD is meritorious.
