Data Steward

Arbetsbeskrivning

The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people – our customers, co-workers and suppliers. By 2030, we are committed to become climate positive by reducing more greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) than the IKEA value chain emits, while growing the IKEA business and without using carbon offsets. We have big responsibility – and opportunity – to make a difference and contribute towards limiting global warming to 1.5°C by positively impacting people, planet and society through our size and full value chain approach.
At IKEA we rely heavily on analytics in how we lead our climate agenda, where climate reporting is turned into concrete improvement actions for the many across the business. This is also used to set strategic goals and road maps with clear actions and projects, which are anchored across business. Safeguarding information management related to the climate footprint is critical to ensure credibility – internally and externally – and that business is provided accurate information to act on.
We’re on the lookout for passionate doers, idea makers, and creative thinkers. Right now, we are looking for a Data Steward for our global climate team, overseeing the climate agenda for the total IKEA value chain and enable it to reach set strategic commitments and goals.

As Data Steward – Sustainability (Climate), your responsibility is to safeguard and maintain metadata related to the IKEA climate footprint for the IKEA value chain and its parts – ensuring it is in line to meet internal and external reporting requirements. You will facilitate the continual development of the climate data quality across IKEA. Furthermore, you will act as an ambassador for information management and be connected to the information management area of expertise in the IKEA digital function.
Your responsibilities will include:
Act as lead for maintenance of business and technical metadata related to climate information objects
Identify and suggest continual improvement activities for the management of metadata and climate documentation
Ensure business terms are appropriately defined and up to date in the business glossary
Assure that business terms do not conflict with each other (no duplicates or overlaps)
Manage data quality issues daily, including process design, development of standards and root cause analysis
Monitor data quality and initiate the resolution of data quality issues in collaboration with technical teams and the sustainability matrices in respective parts of IKEA
Identify and propose changes and updates on existing data (e.g. updates in transformation, KPI logic etc.)
Contribute to the annual external assurance process of climate footprint data
Engage with data users and wider communities on regular basis and promote information management

We are looking for an information management enthusiast with a passion for creating a positive impact on people and planet by empowering our business to shape the agenda on how IKEA should tackle the climate footprint in fact-based way throughout the IKEA businesses using data and analytics.
