Job description Database Administrator (DBA)
As a group level Database Administrator (DBA) you are responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of databases across the organization. Your role involves both technical expertise and managerial skills. As a group level DBA, your role is to provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and guidance to the IT teams to ensure the optimal performance and availability of the organization's databases.

The key aspects of your job description includes:
- Database Strategy and Planning: You will develop and execute a strategic vision for the organization's database environment. This includes evaluating and recommending database technologies, defining standards and best practices, and establishing database-related policies and procedures.
- Database Design and Implementation: You will oversee the design and implementation of new databases and enhancements to existing databases. This involves working closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective database solutions.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization: You will monitor and analyze database performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimization techniques. This may involve query optimization, index tuning, database partitioning, and other performance-enhancing measures.
- Database Security and Compliance: You will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's databases. This includes implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms. You will also ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Backup and Recovery: You will develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data assets. This involves regular backups, testing of restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaboration and Coordination: You will lead projects and collaborate with other IT teams, such as infrastructure, development, and data analytics, to ensure the smooth operation of the database environment. This includes coordinating database-related activities, resolving issues, and participating in cross-functional projects. You will be providing guidance, mentoring, and support to the IT teams across the organization. Effective communication and collaboration with team members are essential.
- Continuous Improvement: You will stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies and practices. You will identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of the database systems.

About you
We are looking for someone who is interested in leading and developing organizations and processes and teams. Experience of leading and coaching people in a role with personnel responsibility is advantageous. It is a big plus if you have worked in a similar role before.

You have good social and communication skills and can handle different types of people and situations. You thrive in a central role and have no problem with sometimes taking a seat and giving the floor while giving space to others in the team. Requirements and information
- Language requirements is English, and if you know a nordic language, it is a plus.
- Hybrid work model, the workplace can be based out of: Göteborg, Stockholm, Hudiksvall, Näsviken, (SE) Roskilde (DK) or Rotterdam, Heemskerk (NL). Traveling will be required in this position.
- Great knowledge in; Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Cloud Technologies
