Database Expert

In collaboration with Lunds University our framework client we are looking for a Database Expert for an assignment at MAX IV Laboratory. The assignment is set to start as soon as possible and will continue to the end of 2021.

Arbetsuppgifter
We are seeking for someone that can advise and support proper configuration and setup of a TimescaleDB cluster intended for large scale archiving of time series data.  Advise on best practices for maintenance and monitoring of the TimescaleDB cluster. After the configuration and the setup you need to support and transfer knowledge to the staff that will be responsible for maintenance going forward.

Din profil och kvalifikationen
To be able to succeed in this role you need to have:
- extensive experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) with understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
- experience in database administration and architecture along with setting up database clusters, benchmarking and performance tuning
- experience of time-series databases
- expertise in database security, backup and recovery
- strong command of SQL
- experience with databases setup in Kubernetes (e.g. Bitnami Helm charts)
- experience with migration of database environment; preferable to have knowledge of Cassandra
- Linux CLI experienceFor this role you need to be fluent in english since you will be working with a multilingual team.
