Database Geologist
Exploration department – Geodata
We are now looking for a highly motivated Database geologist within Boliden Exploration, department Geodata.
The Geodata department is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the integrity and longevity of all geoscientific and exploration related data produced or otherwise used by the Exploration department, and to some extent the Mine Sites. The Geodata department also support the organization with expertise in matters concerning permitting processes and contact with landowners, stakeholders and authorities. Furthermore, the Geodata department manage all activities encompassing physical assets such as drill cores, samples, pulps and rejects.
About the role
As Database Geologist you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the integrity and longevity of primarily Boliden Exploration data and to support the organization with expertise in data management, SQL-querying and validation. You will also be responsible for QAQC and updating each database with appropriate data following relevant methods, protocols and guidelines. You should also have a strong interest in working with continuous improvements and optimizing workflows in order to improve already established routines as well as finding new ways to manage data.
Examples of responsibilities are.
· Database management, querying and assist in development together with our Database developers
· QAQC of exploration data in different database environments and file structures
· Ensure that correct validation scripts are in place and kept up to date
· Support the organization with expertise in geodata fields
· Support the department with geoscientific input
· Work with continuous improvements and projects in line with the departments long-term strategy

This position is based in Boliden and you will report to Department manager Geodata. Travel may be necessary.
Your qualifications
You have a BSc or higher within a Geoscientific field or equivalent. Experience in SQL and/or acQuire database or equivalent is merits.
In your role you will cooperate with people at different levels within the organization as well as external parties, therefore we believe that you have the ability to build and develop relationships on all levels and that you are communicative. As a person you need to be both detail- and result oriented, flexible, have the ability to work both independent and in teams and work pro-actively with improvements.
The position requires the ability to clearly express yourself booth written and orally in English. In addition, knowledge of Swedish and Finnish is merits. B driving license is a requirement.
