Background
We would like to build a flexible way on synchronizing data between vehicle and backend system. Also be able to handle historical data in an improved way both onboard and offboard
Problem
Today we use in-house developed technique to synchronize data between vehicle and backend system. We would also like to improve the amount of data that is always available both onboard and offboard.
Solution
Make use of databases onboard and offboard and keep them synchronized according to different priority levels on how time critical synchronization is. Highest priority level will always be synched and lowest will only be synched when data is free of charge. Make use of existing database technology as much as possible but also limit data consumption as mobile network is not free of charge.
Goal of the thesis
Database synchronization over mobile network that are handled with different priority levels. Synchronization shall be optimized to lower data overhead as much as possible.
