Department Manager, Business Applications

About the job 

Verisure is seeking a talented, innovative and passionate Department Manager for our Business Application department within our Group IT Organization. This person will report directly to the Director of Business Systems and will be based in Malmö.  

The Business Applications department, with about 50 passionate engineers across 3 line organizations, has a high impact on our Verisure business within the areas Sales, Installation and Maintenance as well our eCommerce solutions. The department is leading the development of Business IT within our business and has stakeholders in the countries where we are present. Our expansion puts high demand on the Business IT platform to be a modern and scalable solution.

Key responsibilities  

The Department Manager for Business Applications will be instrumental in enabling Verisure to leverage the investments made in our business platform to grow our business.  

You will be responsible for: 
* Leading and developing the engineering teams responsible for our mobile installation and maintenance applications and eCommerce, eventually delivering piece of mind to millions of customers connecting tens of millions of devices  
* Developing collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholder management  
* Quality and operation of our world-class Business IT services  
* Budget 
* Leveraging and integrating the Verisure’s cloud enabling platforms (micro-services, security architecture)  

 

What you bring 

We are looking for an experienced manager with 5-10 years’ experience. You have technical qualifications and experience in utilizing IT as an enabler for business processes. 

Furthermore, you have:  
* Experience from leading leaders as well as individual contributors 
* Experience from leading in-house IT product development and engineers  
* Experience of delivering complex, high tech projects involving integration of large systems and mobile application engineering and other digital platforms 
* Experience in developing and executing strategy to meet business and technology targets. 
* Understanding of agile development processes and basic understanding of programming languages such as java, java script and mobile application frameworks. 
* Ability to support in vendor negotiations and contractual relationships  
* Experience in multi-national and multi-cultural environment 
* Fluent in English 

Strong Advantages: 
* University post graduate degree in engineering management  
* Familiarity with both Nordic and Spanish cultures
