We are looking for an experienced leader to lead our Chassis & Drive line Development department at Volvo Buses. As challenges are waiting for us around the corner it is important that you are innovative, change oriented and has strong implementation skills.

Who are we?
The Platform Development is a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT), Volvo Buses and responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis, Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil and the function employs app. 250 people.

The Chassis & Driveline Development department, where you will be in charge of app. 80 employees, has the overall responsibility to develop, install and document the chassis systems and components including Driveline, Cooling, Vehicle dynamics, Frame and Climate system. The department responsibility also includes Body builder support and Virtual verification and analysis. You will have six group managers reporting to you. As manager of the Chassis & Driveline Development department you will also be a member of the Platform Development management team, and report to the Vice President Platform Development.

The main task in this important role is to:
You will play an important role to deliver start cost, maintenance and advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets. We do so by taking full product ownership and accountability for our deliveries. You are in the driving seat to develop the organization and the people to support future challenges contributing to Volvo Buses profitability.

Who are we looking for?
We want you to have a minimum 5 years’ experience from manager positions within product development, preferably in the area of mechanical and mechatronics. You have a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Since we believe that communication is one of the most important tasks we have as leaders, we want you to have great communication skills in English, verbal and written. It is a merit if you have experience from working with Lean or Agile in Product Development.

We believe that you are a Business oriented leader with a clear customer focus and a genuine interest in products and services. You have a passion for developing effective teams as you are applying inclusive leadership and see the importance of diversity within the team. You work in a systematic way and can handle a complex and fast changing environment. However, you also like to finish up what you have started. You understand the importance of clear communication and you encourage people take pride in being responsible for their deliveries.
