What you'll need to have
Do you want to be a part of the exciting “Stores with fulfilment capabilities redesign projects”, as one of IKEA’s strategic transitions initiatives to become the leading omnichannel home furnishing retailer? Are you passionate about unit logistics operations, fulfilment, project and change management?
We are seeking a person who enjoys applying strategic, tactical and operational approaches for analyzing business opportunities from the customer perspective and is driven to influence the improvement of the business. You have strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset and are energized by giving support and acting as an adviser to IKEA country organisations. You can act within the global framework to achieve local/market/organisation goals, identify needs and drive changes within the organisation by acting in multi-cultural, interdependent and matrix environments. In addition, you possess a strong analytical capability to enable the translation of business and customer needs into development deployment initiatives.
To succeed in this role, you will have been working within the field of Logistics/Supply Chain/Distribution on CFF Expansion, on both operational and tactical levels. During the years, you have achieved a comprehensive understanding and deep knowledge of IKEA store, central fulfilment and service fulfilment processes leading to excellence in total customer fulfilment and specific IKEA processes. An understanding of IKEA store design and retail architecture and/or country omnichannel network planning would be advantageous. You have also been working with indirect leadership in a complex environment, delivering business results and have a proven ability to influence a matrix organisation. You have a proven track record of successfully leading projects and processes on the country/national level.
Your responsibilities
Customer Fulfilment (CFF) plays a fundamental role within Retail in achieving the IKEA goal of becoming an omnichannel retailer. Customer Fulfilment acts as a fully integrated function, with an end-to-end approach to develop our business, having customers’ needs at heart. You will focus on contributing to a seamless shopping experience for the many people with great quality across all touchpoints.
You will contribute by advising and c-creating the best possible project deployment solution/scenario that will deliver excellent customer fulfilment and high operational performance at the lowest cost and long-term profitability to the respective unit/market, enabling the growth of fulfilment capacities and capabilities in all markets
Your role should analyze the pre-conditions met in a specific country, matching it with the prerequisites required to use one or multiple developed solutions. Together with the service fulfilment operations leader and the automation specialists you will define the right sizing and the working methods to be implemented into a unit. Another important task would be to provide support, guidance, and sharing best practices for all fulfilment operations in the nominated IKEA units of the defined deployment activity with the respective market function to secure an efficient, inspiring and motivating environment.
You will be responsible for:
• Co-creating the best solutions within a unit/store, in combination with an extension, or include automation, for identified projects together with the respective country/unit/market. Always striving for the best relation of quality, cost, and speed.
• Actively using and constantly improving existing deployment processes, checklists, dimensioning tools, collaboration networks, internal/external communication hub and follow-up tools.
• Creating and maintaining information and learning content for the deployment share point.
• Secure the implementation of best practices, drawing on good examples both from within IKEA and from the latest developments and deployments internally and externally.
• Secure real-time updated information in the deployment tracker for all projects within the portfolio.
• Analyse and confirm the business benefit of deployment processes and performance enhancement solutions.
• Support the country teams during OCN planning to decide and design the fulfilment capabilities that best suit their future needs creating capacity for growth and cost optimization.
• Secure consistency, interaction, and knowledge transfer in business deployment toward other areas.
• Support the line organizations in building deployment competence and in-country teams.
• Lead collaboration and alignment between country CFF organization and global centres of expertise (CFF, commercial, digital, real estate & construction, expansion, procurement, central planning hub and core business franchise.
• Contribute to the handover, implementation & follow-up of newly developed solutions and secure that the solution and feature meet the needs of users for a successful deployment.
• Support the Agile way of working in deployment support.
• Contribute actively to related governance and process-related forums such as PIRC or country councils.
• Build effective relationships with country stakeholders and global collaboration network partners.
About this work area
The Store with Fulfilment Capabilities Initiative within the Automation and Layout Function is a key initiative and one of IKEA’s strategic transition projects becoming the leading omnichannel home furnishing retailer. The assignment is to deploy a portfolio of solutions to empower existing units with fulfilment capabilities, making them a key element in the omnichannel network while keeping their commerciality in meeting our customers. This portfolio covers the end-to-end process of order fulfilment in a store from goods receiving, storage, picking, order preparation, and order storage up to outbound handover from stores and they need to be adapted to the countries’ needs.
