As a deputy Category manager, you will be in charge of developing and leading the category together with the category manager and the management team of Category Protein based products. You will contribute to the development of Category Area Food, sharing best practices and developing synergies across all dimensions. You have a proven track record of leading business and people, you identify with our values and enjoy creating an environment where the IKEA values are a strong and living reality. The agenda covers everything from operational excellence to development of the strategic approach on the business.

The vision of IKEA Food is to create unique IKEA setup together with high performing suppliers that enable step changes in price, quality, sustainability, form and function. Category Protein Based products has 50+ co-workers located in 5 different locations around the globe and handle +70 suppliers.

About the job
Actively contribute to and lead the development of the category plan and sourcing strategy
To set & implement the business direction, with clear Action Plan(s) to improve and develop business and supplier performance, and deliver to Category Plan, using the Supplier Development Process as a base
Identify, optimize and secure a competitive supply matrix today and tomorrow
To lead and/or contribute to projects on behalf of the overall category or category area
To secure planning and execution to fulfil the sourcing assignment and pro-actively work together with Business area Food to integrate opportunities and act on deviations
To be accountable for professional and long term relationship with suppliers through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency
Responsibility for driving the leadership and competence agenda within your teams; to identify needs and gaps, and build leadership and competence plans to meet the short and long term business needs
Responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers directly in your teams
A fluent communication in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite for this role with an ability to work with multicultural teams. Project management and stakeholder management will be a key success factor for this business. The position includes travelling.
