Deputy Laboratory Manager

Job description
A new clinical laboratory in Solna has opened up with the purpose to increase the national capacity for analysis of Covid-19 infection. The lab is expanding and moving towards around the clock operations, and therefore looking for an experienced lab manager for the night shifts. The work will consist of managing the lab operations during the night shifts and oversee analysis of COVID-19 samples using PCR & ELISA techniques. The lab is located at Biomedicum in Solna, offering state of the art facilities.

Areas of responsibility
The role incorporates responsibility for managing the laboratory processes and laboratory technicians during the process of receiving and analyzing samples with molecular biology methods, such as PCR & ELISA, as well as handling of results.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a relevant education, e.g. clinical immunology, molecular biology, BMA or similar. We also believe that you have a couple of years of experience of managing lab operations. If you are interested in turning science to business, then this may be the right fit for you.

To enjoy this position it is important that you like spending time at the lab and are willing to work shift and weekends. You feel comfortable with independently planning, coordinating with people and documenting your team’s work. You appreciate the importance of team work and it is therefore important that you are flexible and have good collaboration skills. As a person you are structured and communicative. Since the lab is relatively new started it is good if you like to be part of improvement processes.
