Kvinna till Kvinna is one of the world’s leading women’s rights organisations active in conflict affected areas since 1993. Today we support around 150 women’s rights organisations working for women’s increased political and economic power and against gender based violence.
With a head office in Stockholm and 14 local offices across the world in the Western Balkans, Africa, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East and North Africa, the organisation has about 130 employees.
Kvinna till Kvinna is currently looking for a new Deputy Secretary-General to join them in the work towards a world in which women have influence over decision-making and participate fully and effectively in the development of society.
About the position
As Deputy Secretary-General, you are responsible for the organisational strategic development, development of overall governing documents as well as internal communication and processes of change.
You will lead, develop and maintain Kvinna till Kvinna’s systems and methods for operational planning, reporting, organisation-wide follow-up and learning.
You will also support the Secretary-General in the managerial and leadership development of the organisation, have a key role in the risk and incident management system of the organisation and partake in supporting the board.
The Deputy Secretary-General is part of the senior management team and works closely with the Secretary-General and the other heads of departments.
Your qualifications
Several years relevant work experience where a significant part is from a managerial position.Experience of development of strategies and processes for operational planning, organisational monitoring and learning.
Knowledge in Swedish and international development cooperation including strategy and policy development.
Experience from civil society organisations, preferably working in the fields of women’s rights, gender equality and peacebuilding.
Academic degree in a relevant field such as political science, gender studies, international relations, development studies, peace- and conflict studies, human rights and organisational development.
Proficiency in Swedish and English, written as well as spoken.
Personal qualifications
We are looking for a person with a genuine interest in organisational and leadership development, including internal communication. It is positive with experience from working with a multiculturally diverse group of staff.
You are a collaborative, team-oriented, value-based leader with the ability to motivate others. You can handle stressful situations with the capacity to prioritise and delegate and you have strong communication- and conflict sensitivity skills.
