Kongsberg Automotive Ljungsarp site needs reinforcement! Due to a very positive development of our business we need to increase the R&D capacity. The R&D team in Ljungsarp consists of 4 persons and is responsible for the steering column program with related products. The scope of work is design, development and test of the full product range on standard modular- as well as customized tailored solutions. On a regular basis we also work together with our customers and colleagues in Europe, North America and Asia on a global off-highway market.

Design and development Engineer, Steering Columns

Main tasks and responsibilities
. To be design responsible for mechanical and/or electro mechanical products.
. To participate in and/or lead design projects.
. Participate in and control prototype manufacturing.
. To drive the development process.
. To create, maintain and update related 3D and 2D data.
. Create, maintain and update product specifications, based on existing modular program.
. Participate in development and improvement of our work methodology.
. Analyze and interpret customer requirements to determine feasibility of product proposals.
. Maintain relation with internal and external customer engineers working on the product design.
. Establish system design in order to re-use some as building block for other products, and improve the validation cycle.
. Design / validate / launch variants of our modular system to support new sales opportunities.
. Plan and develop experimental test programs, perform testing and write the reports.
. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.


Candidate Profile
. MSc / BSc Engineering degree or similar, with mechanical or mechatronics orientation.
. Good team player.
. Innovative.
. Not afraid of working with own hands (e.g. in prototype/test lab).
. CATIA V5 experience is an advantage.
. Fluency in spoken and written English and Swedish.
