Who We Are
Our ART, Painted Body, consists of 22 agile, empowered teams within body engineering, premium surfaces, material and joining as well as labels. We work close together with both internal and external stake holders to deliver excellent attribute performance and paint quality.
What you will do
In the role as Design Engineer part of your main assignments are the development of Upper body structure parts in Catia V5 using advance surfacing and solid modelling.
Continuous optimization and improvement to balance cost, weight, performance and quality.
You will be in close cooperation with attribute leaders (safety, durability, NVH), mechanical integration and design. Secure interfaces towards adjoining areas/ARTS. Assist in setting targets and subsequent problem solving. Responsible for supporting the development of product functionality while ensuring the production of deliverable products. Cooperation with manufacturing for feasibility of part production and assembly.
Understanding of all demands surrounding design area. Deliver technical input (TI) to Design and Mechanical integration. Create/derive a close-range plan and deliver activities from agreed backlog.
Required Qualifications for this role
• BSc of art in industrial design or equal experince
• Deep knowledge within body design, structural and exterior
• High skill level in Catia V5 (advance surface) & Teamcenter
• Throughout product development knowledge
• Self-driven team players with mindset to deliver high quality results
• Experience and knowledge in body adjoining areas of technology
• Team oriented approach with the ability to communicate and implement innovative ideas
• Ability to analyze information and proposed solutions and to determine if the design proposals are feasible
• Specialization in sheet metal design
• Fluent in English both written and speaking
