Our department/team is responsible for installation and integration of electrical, hydraulic and powertrain components in Volvos Articulated Haulers & Wheel Loaders. We are a team of passionate engineers with a great team spirit. As a team we support each other and value trust, change, customer success, passion and performance. We are now looking for a new colleague for the position as Design Engineer. Come and join our great team!


What We Offer?


As our new design engineer, you will participate in installing and integrating electrical, hydraulic and powertrain components into the machines. This typically means that you take part in both designing the components and installing bought material, combining reliable known solutions with great new innovations to meet our product targets. Together with the team you will focus on both designing and integrating components and systems. We are a team of dedicated problem solvers!


You will together with your colleagues agree on the targets together with the product owners. You will collect requirements from the product team and propose better solutions when possible. Together you will decide on a concept which you realize through a design in our design tool (CATIA and/or Creo). You will participate in workshops and inspect how the components fits in the machine and make any necessary changes for serial production.

You are passionate to make a difference and to develop within the design engineering field. We think you are a true team player since there is a lot of cross-functionally collaboration with other departments in this role.


When joining this team, you will have a great opportunity to start from smaller installation tasks but growing your skills over the years to master more complex problems like designing and installing complete systems or build deeper knowledge within component design such as lights, cylinders and cooling systems. You may also dive into the legal requirements fulfillment depending on your fields of interest.


In this role there will always be new opportunities for you to ensure your own growth. Depending on who you are and what your interests are, you will over time, have the opportunity to develop into a very skilled engineer within 3D CAD installation, System design, component development, project lead or safety & legal fulfillment. You have a growth mindset, and we think you enjoy both learning new skills and to contribute to your colleague’s growth. You are an effective collaborator in a diverse environment and can communicate well in English.


Other qualifications we think you have:
You have at least a bachelor’s degree within Engineering within the fields of Hydraulic, mechanical or Electrical, Design, Mechanical, Robotics, Vehicle or similar or related courses.
Your English skills are on level “Godkänt” (or better) from Swedish Gymnasium or international C1 level or better.
You either talk Swedish already or are eager to learn. Feel free to apply in Swedish!
You intend to live in the area of Eskilstuna/Västerås/Strängnäs/Flen/Köping.
