We are looking for several Design Engineers to join our growing global R&D department at NKT! With our expansion we are now offering an unique opportunity for newly graduates and more junior candidates to influence and proudly be part of the worlds renewable energy transformation.
Design and Develop for the future
Come add a fresh breeze to our expanding Global R&D department at NKT! You will be working on developing cable accessories for high voltage AC and DC cable systems needed for the green transformation of the energy system.
You will be joining a tech-community with extensive knowledge and experience in material, design, simulation, and testing of cable terminations and joints. Except for designing technical solutions that meet the customer requirements in collaboration with R&D engineers, specialist and test facilities globally, your role will also involve performing and evaluating electrical and mechanical simulations, participate in development and qualification tests and develop quality control plans.
Your role will also involve..
• Be design responsible throughout the R&D projects
• Conceptual work in 3D CAD
• Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
• Design verification – both simulation and test plan creation
• Produce final designs and drawings

Furthermore, your CV includes ..
• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent relevant field
• Max. 3 years of work experience within the field
• Experience and System knowledge in 3D CAD – Solid Works or similar CAD system and PLM system.
• Fluent in English
Bonus points for:
• Fluency or knowledge in other languages, especially Swedish and German
• Taking agency of your accomplishments
• Knowledge about of simulation software like Matlab, Comsol
• Experience from medium or high voltage industry
• Experience from R&D
You will be located in Alingsås and report to the VP of R&D. Because of the global set-up you will be travelling to other sites occasionally, estimated 5-10 days per year, domestic and international.
