Who We Are
Function & Control is responsible for developing seat functions within Volvo Car's R&D division. The HW Safety team, one of four teams in the Function & Control department, handles quality issues, running changes, and model year updates for seat function ECUs, including supplier and in-house software management. As part of the Vehicle Tophat unit, we are dedicated to creating next-generation seat functions while continuously improving current solutions. Our journey toward electrification and digitalization is both challenging and exciting, driven by our passion for people, sustainability, and enhancing the driving experience. The team takes complete ownership of its components, from concept through to industrialization.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your team, design engineers, interfacing teams, suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing engineers, and various stakeholders to ensure that seat functions meet customer expectations. You will lead the cross-functional team in developing future products, overseeing time, technique, and cost to meet strategic development plans. Your daily work will involve design templates, benchmarking, innovation, and advanced engineering. You will be responsible for continuous optimization, managing supplier contacts, and ensuring that technical designs align with architectural guidelines. In addition, you will secure data in relevant systems like Pecca Procost and KDP and ensure work is delivered according to specified timing and acceptance criteria.

Who You Are
You are fully knowledgeable and capable of working independently within Volvo’s product development processes, systems, and tools such as KDP, Pecca Procost, VPC, and TcE. You have experience within the automotive industry, ideally with Volvo Cars, and have held roles as a task leader (GDL/KU). You are comfortable working with suppliers and in international environments and possess strong project management skills. You are self-organizing, have a technical university degree (or equivalent practical experience), and are fluent in English. Flexibility, excellent communication, teamwork, and networking skills are essential qualities, and experience in hardware/software development would be considered a merit.
