An exciting opportunity has arisen since we are looking for an EtO (Engineering to Order) Design Engineer to join our Waterjet systems business unit. In this role you will be part of a dynamic Waterjet team that works together to sell, design, manufacture and deliver waterjets of world class performance. At the signing of an order, the order is transferred to the Project department, where the EtO Engineer is responsible for the technical design of the delivery and together with the responsible Contract Manager manages the delivery and contract obligations until end of warranty.
This position also includes a technical supporting role in pre-sales activities - drawing proposals of shaft-lines and hydraulic systems for example, which also includes dimensional calculations. The EtO Engineer role is responsible for all technical configurations regarding the customer project. This includes design and calculations of tailormade shaft-lines, including support bearings and suitable couplings, manufacturing drawings, project drawings for hydraulic systems etc.
Collaboration with various departments, including Product Management, Sales and Manufacturing, is an inherent part of our work. This also involves engaging directly with customers to address technical inquiries and provide instruction and discussions with our global organization.
Qualifications and experience
To succeed in this role and make a perfect fit, we believe that you have at least 3–5-year experience on Engineering/R&D activities and tasks. You have a BSc/MSc degree in Engineering. We prefer that you have good knowledge of Engineering tools (2D, 3D CAD, PDM). You can work independently but also in global teams. You should have good verbal and written communication skills in English. The work requires a high degree of accuracy and an analytical approach to finding solutions. A flexible mindset and being able to easily adopt to new situations will help, due to the varieties of work and continuously changing requirements. Travel may be required.
