The engine development department is the centre within Volvo CE for development of engines and auxiliary components for engines. The development responsibility consists of engine mechanical design, performance development and design of auxiliary components for engines. Today we are doing this development for Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road and Utility Machinery
We are now in a need of strengthen the department for Engine Auxiliary Systems (EAS) with a new colleague within the area of engine exhaust systems
Development engineer exhaust systems
The engine team is looking for an ambitious HW-engineer to strengthen the development of exhaust systems. Except excellent technical skills, your power of initiative should be high with an ability to plan and perform your work independently or as a part of a team.
Within this function you will be responsible in projects to specify and design hardware components for both conventional exhaust systems and aftertreatment systems. Since the components are aimed to be used in multiple Volvo CE products, you will be a key player in the co-ordination between different products´ requirements and expectations on these components and systems. You will also support quality assuring activities and tests of the components as well as for the complete systems. If necessary, you will also be part of product maintenance activities on your components.
The work is carried out in close co-operation with other engine development departments, our different product platforms and external suppliers. Therefor a high ability and willingness to communicate with your internal customers and external suppliers is necessary in this role.
Qualifications for the work
-M.Sc or B.Sc with +5 years? experience of mechanical design work
-High ability to plan and structure work
-Very high power of initiatives
-Commercial understanding and interest
-Interest for and knowledge of engines is seen as a merit
-High ability and willingness to communicate
-High knowledge in written and spoken English, since the work is done in an international environment
