Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
We are therefore looking to add design engineers to our team. The development of an electric vehicle poses a whole new set of challenges and it is crucial that the new energy source, the battery cells, are transported in a safe and regulated way.
At Scania, we play a pivotal role in electrifying the transportation sector and shaping a more sustainable future. Our battery development team is at the forefront of innovation, creating environmentally friendly solutions that drive positive change. Join our battery development team, where innovation drives environmentally friendly solutions. Be part of our mission to create a greener, more energy-efficient world
Our team
We are a dynamic, driven and dedicated team where we have a lot of fun while being responsible for the development of several components within the battery pack. The thermal components, insulation, cooling plate and coolant pipes as well as the crash protection bump stops. You would be working within one of these areas.
The group consists of a diverse mix of individuals where we sometimes work from home and sometimes from the office. The flexibility is high and we value that you sometimes need to leave early. We are both design engineers with varying level of experience, a layout responsible, material coordinator, scrum master and product owner. We are working closely together with the other teams within our department, two design groups and one simulation group, and the goal is to have a working climate that leaves room for both productiveness as well as laughter.
The development work for energy storage is performed in agile cross-functional teams containing engineers from design, simulation and testing as well as members from purchasing and production. This leads to short hand over times for the different areas which is important as we are moving forward with development at a fast pace.
Your assignment
As a design engineer you will work close together with our team to design the necessary component for ensuring a well-functioning battery pack.
Your assignment would include:
· Designing components in CATIA based on specifications, simulations and know-how
· Handle issues such as mechanical strength and thermal management
· Working collaborative with cross-functional teams for procuring, installing, simulations, testing, production and service
· Representing your components in the requirement balancing for the complete system
· Affecting road map and future development within your component area
Your profile
We place a high value on personal drive, good communication and a team spirit. Taking responsibility for the assignments given to you is important and will require an ability to structure the wok and balancing several parallel processes.
· You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or similar.
· Work experience in the automotive industry as a design engineer or from a relevant cross-functional area is considered a merit.
· CAD-knowledge is a requirement, experience in CatiaV5 and Enovia is meriting.
· Professional fluency in English is a requirement, and Swedish is a merit.
We believe that it is important that you are driven and can handle responsibility as the job would contain development of new components and being component responsible. Working in an agile cross-function environment requires good communication with people of different working areas.
As a manager I encourage my employees to take responsibility for their own area, it helps build trust and keeps the job assignments interesting. I believe in an open communication with my employees and try to stay close with the team so that I am aware of what is going on.
