For our electrified vehicles, the performance of the electrical system is crucial to deliver premium value towards our customers. We continously push the technologies to the limit to reduce charging times by allowing for higher and higher charging currents in a safe and reliable way.
We are now looking for an ambitious and driven Design Engineer that will help us to set the course for the future performance of electrical systems by designing the components and parts in our electric power transfer system.
Who we are
UECF – Power Distribution is a group responsible for electric power transfer. From charging to batteries. From batteries to electric motors and climate heaters. Our objective is to design the world leading modular power transfer system. We create the architecture, simulate and design the parts. The group consist of design engineers, simulation engineers and object leaders.
About the role
As a Design Engineer you will have end to end responsibility, both developing new hardware components and improving existing components in customer operation. You will work with a mix of materials that transfer high currents to charge and propell the vehicles. This in a highly cross-functional environment both internally at Scania, but also with suppliers and other brands within TRATON.
You will be responsible for:
• Designing components in CATIA
• Setting requiremens for your components to secure the needs of customers, suppliers, production and aftermarket
• Testing and simulating your designs
• Having close dialogue with our suppliers to manufacture your design
• Benchmark and analyse competitors with regards to your components
• Effectively communicate your findings in various meetings
Who you are
You are a dedicated team-player who thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment. You are communicative and well-structured in your work. You find motivation in developing the best way forward in cooperation with others. You have a good analytical ability and you navigate between details and context to find the optimal technical solution.
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within electrical engineering. You have previously designed casted, sheet metal, plastic or forged parts. Previous work experience within electrical engineering is a plus but not required.
