Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
For Scania, our people are our most valuable asset. The strong and supportive culture of Scania provides an organisational environment where each individual is seen, respected and can contribute. We trust each other to act and make decisions, and we believe in a more flexible future workplace based on individual needs.
Development happens naturally here; individuals, teams and our customer offerings have the support they need to grow. The result is an industry-leading company with motivated, dedicated people who want to be a part of driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system.
Are you an inquisitive problem solver with a feel for quality who enjoys working in a team? Do you have an appetite for challenges and a thirst for solid, comprehensive product knowledge? As a design engineer, committed and curious minds with a preference for a technical career can grow together with us at the team and within Scania!
The group
Our group works with quality-improving development projects that concern the whole bus. Our tasks mainly come from end customers, production and purchasing. We are a driven, dynamic section with high work morale, which currently consists of two groups of design engineers and one group of assignment managers. We are on the brink of a new generation of NBA buses with BEV, HEV and many advanced systems, so we now need to recruit an additional design engineer.
Your role
• Practical problem solving concerning a wide range of quality improvements
• Cross-functional collaboration with the end customer in focus
• Product development from concept to testing and design
As a design engineer, you will work with quality improvements for the end customers and production and tasks from our suppliers regarding bus chassis and bus bodies. You will use CAD/Catia and deal with practical problem solving in collaboration with a cross functional working group. We are a global organisation with staff at production units in Sweden, Brazil, Poland and China.
As part of our group, you will play an important role in improving our products. As a design engineer in red arrow, you will work with problem solving according to RGM (Red General Milestones), which means carrying out your tasks together with an assignment manager from the start until the solution is implemented in production and the end customer. Due to the varied nature of the tasks you are assigned, you will gain a large contact network and broad technical knowledge.
Your profile
You have a technical degree of at least bachelor level or equivalent. You are genuinely interested in technology and curious to broaden your technical expertise. Communication is very important and we work with our cross-functional teams on a daily basis. For this reason, we are seeking someone who enjoys working in a multicultural context and has good written and spoken English.
As your tasks will range from problem analysis to problem solving, you need to be a good communicator and team player. You must enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with others. It is a plus if you have an interest in electronics and/or expertise in bus design. Knowledge of Catia and/or Saber is a plus. You are also expected to contribute to the section's improvement efforts.
