Design engineer Cab

You will work as a design engineer with focus on wheel loader, articulated hauler and backhoe loader cabs. The cab is an important part of the complete machine and it is of great importance to our customer. Volvo cabs are today perceived as the best on the market and we intend to strengthen this position.

Core Responsibilities:
- The responsibility will change over time depending of what initiative is currently in focus but will be covering:
- Mechanical design of various components in cab such as attachments and operator controls, interior/exterior plastic panels, structural changes of protective structure. Area of responsibility might vary based on your previous knowledge.
- New development as well as making changes on components in production
- Together with the team create design solutions that fulfill all the demands that are specified in the development projects
- Coordination of technical aspects of cab or component design with the Project Manager, Engineering and Technical Product Manager from the overall machine projects
- Cross functional coordination between production and purchasing project leaders as well as other Technology Platform engineering groups
- Being the input and output communication link from the Cab Technology Platform development team and the complete machine project

Required qualifications:
- We think that you have a master or bachelor degree of science with the focus on mechanical engineering or comparable experience
- Design experience of cab or operator environment is beneficial
- Experience of 3D CAD design and development in Catia v5 is a plus

Personal Qualifications:
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Target and result oriented
- High level of integrity and quality mindset
- Ability to work and perform in cross-functional project teams, both inside and outside the company
- Self-going and be able to take initiative
- Good command of Swedish and English, both written and spoken
- Interest in machines and especially cabs and operator environment are positive
