Are you an experienced Design Engineer and want to further develop your career together with a great team of highly skilled engineers developing world class, premium branded products? Thule Group continues to grow and we need to strengthen our team with dedicated Design Engineers based in our newly opened R&D branch office in Malmö.

We grow fast in most of our product categories and are looking for members in both Active With Kids as well as in our traditional categories Sports & Cargo Carriers. 


About the position
As a Design Engineer at Thule Group you will develop and design world class sustainable products with high quality within targeted cost and time plans to meet market requirements of our consumer. You will also be evaluating technical solutions with respect to manufacturing methods, strength requirements, cost and aesthetics. Since we believe in hands on product development we have over the last years invested in a very modern prototype workshop that allows you as a Design Engineer to quickly move from idea to physical prototypes at hand which makes your work more dynamic and diverse.

As a Design Engineer you will follow the complete product development cycle, from idea generation to industrialization. You work in project teams in close cooperation with Project Managers, Simulation Engineers, Test Engineers, Prototype Technicians and other Design Engineers as well as other resources within Thule Group. You learn new things continuously through your daily work as well as from Thule’s setup with Knowledge Teams for all important disciplines.

You will be based at our office in Malmö but are expected to spend time at our Global Development Center in Hillerstorp continuously, approximately 1 day per week.

About the candidate
You have an academic degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent documented experience. In addition to this you have 5-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably within the field of consumer products for high volume production together with a proven and keen interest to develop great long-lasting products. 

To succeed in your new role we believe you have extensive experience in 3D-CAD (preferable Solidworks), PLM-system competence and documented technical knowledge. We trust you have a structured and professional approach with flexibility in mind and consistent in delivery together with a strong problem-solving ability.
