Design Engineer, Mechanical Developmetn

The product development within Kongsberg Automotive is subject to global competition, with high demands on our performance. As a design engineer you will be part of a creative team of approximately 20 design engineers, in mechanics and electronics. Our objective is to be in the global frontline of our product range. In our designs we use a great deal of advanced injection-molded plastic parts, in combination with other materials. Electronics and mechatronics have an increasing impact on our designs. Having global customers and suppliers we have many international contacts. You will be a part of a functional team and work in a cross functional project group appointed for a customer project. You may also have opportunities for working at other Kongsberg sites for a period of time. Our CAD tools are mainly Solid Works and Catia V5. We are looking for a person who - has a master or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering - is experienced in working in projects, taking a great personal responsibility. - has a solid theoretical and practical technical background. - has an ability to work in a structured and independent way. - is committed to his/her tasks and has a good ability to collaborate. - possesses good communicative skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written. Experience of mechanical design, preferably from the automotive industry, is desirable. Experience of designing plastic components and knowledge of polymer materials is also qualifying. We value knowledge of other languages such as German, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
